The Arena

This arena is built atop a deep natural pit, from which a massive rock formation rises. The top of this rock has been smoothed and covered in sand, forming the central fighting ground.

Surrounding the rock—and partially suspended over the pit—are the arena’s stands. They follow no strict architectural plan, built in a rough circular shape. Some extend high above, while others are constructed atop nearby rock formations, giving the arena a jagged, chaotic look.

A wooden bridge connects the lower entrance of the arena directly to the fighting ground, allowing for dramatic entrances and exits.

The Pit

The pit beneath the arena holds great symbolic meaning for the Ashborn. Just as they are born of the earth, rising from fire and ash, so too does the arena rise from this ancient chasm. For many, it will be their final resting place—as they fall in battle and descend into the depths, returning to the ground from which they came.

It is believed that deep beneath this land lies a mystical source of magical power—perhaps the very one responsible for the creation of the Ashborn. This arena, then, may serve not just as a battleground, but as a sacred site where justice and judgment are delivered through the only language the Ashborn truly understand: combat.

Some believe that the pit is more than just a symbolic abyss—that it may be the entrance to a vast network of caverns and dungeons, nearly impossible to navigate, that leads to the magical source hidden in the earth’s core.

Cultural Significance

The Ashborn are raiders by nature, lacking a rich culture or formal religion. Yet this arena stands as an exception—a rare sacred place among their people. Whether it is the arena’s proximity to the magical heart of their land, or the way it blends brutality with ritual, this place holds meaning. Here, differences are settled, strength is tested, and legends are born.
